About us

We cover a small patch, ensuring the news is relevant if you live or work in south Norwich. Hyperlocal sites like ours are starting to spring up across the country, offering an alternative to the established media.

How it works.

We focus on key local issues that people who live here have told us about. We cover all sorts of local stories from politics to schools to crime.

With the help of the SNNews map, you can find stories from your immediate neighbourhood.

If you Like South Norwich News on Facebook, you can get links to all our stories as they are published.

You can follow us on Twitter, you can get an insight into the stories we’re chasing.

Our Features section allows us to cover local businesses you might not have come across before as well as unusual stories from across the patch.

Make the headlines.

Anyone can suggest a story idea, or send in photos or video of something happening in south Norwich. The easiest way to do this is to simply use the email below.

Your story idea might spark off a campaign that changes where you live locally. What you film could be seen by thousands of local people. Your photo could become a front page feature.

A great example of this was a photo sent in by a reader of a fire on Unthank Road. The photo taken from his doorstep of fire crews captured the moment as the blaze took hold.

The patch.

We cover news that happens between Earlham Road and Ipswich Road; from the city centre to the outer boundary of the River Yare.
