We’ve been sent some great story ideas on a wide range of topics:

• A quick email told us about from a pupil at the Hewett School who faced deportation.
• A direct message on Twitter tipped us off that businesses were being hit financially by building works on Unthank Road.

Opinion

We think there should be a place where local people can air their views about issues that matter to them. If you have strong views on an issue, we could be the platform for that article. South Norwich News is growing in popularity so what you write would be read by thousands of local people.

Recently Samir Jeraj, a councillor for Town Close ward, wrote an article about refugees who’ve settled here in south Norwich. We also used our Opinion section in the run-up to the 2010 general election, giving each of the candidates in Norwich South a chance to say why we should vote for them.

What to get more involved?

We’re on the look out for bright minds as well as strong opinions. You can volunteer to join the team, especially if you’re considering a career in journalism, news photography or video journalism.
