New waymarkers have been put in place marking The Boudicca Way from Norwich to Diss.

The route stretches 36 miles across open countryside, along footpaths and quiet country roads.

The project gained £50,000 in funding to link existing footpaths through picturesque and historic villages like Caistor St Edmund Roman Town and Shotesham.

A brand new website gives details of the route, as well as shorter circular walks along the way.

Local pubs and village shops are included on some of the signs, pointing people in the direction of places to stop on route.

Project officer, Steve Falvey said: “The way is really well marked now and we’ve had a lot of support from local businesses. The grant from the Waveney Local Action Group lasts until 2013 so we want the route to become as well known as other walks such as the Wherryman’s Way.”
