There’s growing demand for good local food, sourced from Norfolk farms, fishermen and gamekeepers. One company filling that gap is Farm, Park and Wild.
Set up last December, Farm, Park and Wild have been busy developing a network of Norfolk suppliers for meat, vegetables and fish. The ingredients are used in their pastry range: Mr Kew’s Pies, with fillings dependent on the season. The pies are hand-made to order. They also have an extensive barbeque range and deliver throughout the week in Norwich.
With autumn around the corner, they’re about to head into game season. That means haunches of venison and stuffed pheasant. A new menu is being put together with the very best Norfolk’s gamekeepers have to offer.
Farm, Park and Wild is the brainchild of Kent Laws, who comes to it with a marketing background. His partners are 2 chefs who prepare all the food from their kitchen in North Walsham. Through the summer they’ve been working 7 days a week, frequently working at weekends attending Farmers’ Markets across the county. And often selling out.
The new company hit the headlines last year with their ”turkey cam”. A web camera gave buyers a chance to watch their Christmas turkey wandering around on the free range farm. The idea won them coverage worldwide after it was picked up by many of the national newspapers, including The Sun, The Mail and The Times.
Each week gets busier for Farm, Park and Wild. They’re starting to supply some farm shops and are planning to open their own, preferably in Holt. From there, they’d like to offer a clever idea involving casseroles. Customers would be able to drop a dish off with them at the shop which would be delivered, full of that week’s special.
Their delivery van is regularly in south Norwich. Deliveries over £15 are free in Norwich and North Norfolk. Orders can be placed online or by phone on 0844 846 2329.
