4 teenagers have been arrested for assault and affray in a city park.

Complaints about problems in Earlham Park had been made to officers from University and Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team in the past few weeks. On Friday, police arrested a 16 year old, 17 year old and two 18 year old males. They have been released on police bail with curfews imposed where they have to remain at a particular address overnight. They are not allowed to associate with one another.

Sergeant Gerry Hanley from University and Eaton SNT said “We are pleased with these arrests as there have been ongoing problems recently with youths gathering and causing a nuisance at Earlham Park. The action we have undertaken proves we are committed to making areas such as these safer and are more pleasant places to visit for local residents.”
