4 in court charged with kidnap
Four men have appeared in court charged with kidnap and false imprisonment. The men were arrested by armed police, who shot at the tyres of a car at the bottom of Grapes Hill last week.
All 4 men, who live in Norwich, appeared before magistrates on Monday and were charged with kidnap and false imprisonment. 2 of the men, John Burton, aged 31, of Womersley Road and Andrew Wirt, aged 23, of Ladbrooke Place were also charged with GBH with intent. All 4, including 20 year old Robbie Carter of Temple Road were remanded in custody. Andrew Moreton from the Pilling Park area was subsequently granted conditional bail by the courts on Tuesday 29 June.
A 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman, both from the Norwich area, who were arrested in connection with the incident, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The 4 men will reappear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday 12 July.
