A young boy was discovered unattended near Barrett Road this morning.
Police were called and have arrested a 39 year old woman.
Shortly before 9.30am today police were called to Barrett Road, near the Hewett School, after a member of the public discovered a baby boy left alone.
Officers found the child safe and well but are keen to trace the driver of a light-coloured grey or silver people carrier. It’s believed the driver was forced to take avoiding action as a result of the child being unattended. The male driver and female passenger stopped at the scene but left before police arrived. Police believe the driver and passenger may have vital information and are keen for them to come forward.
A 39-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody. Anyone with information in relation to the incident should contact PC Steven Harrowing at Bethel Street Police Station on 0845 456 4567.
