South Norwich’s former Labour MP is organising a second series of guest lectures at the University of East Anglia.
The new series will see high profile figures from the worlds of politics and academia explore key issues facing society.
Charles Clarke joined the UEA’s School of Political, Social and International Studies as a visiting professor in 2010.
Former Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt and former head of the British Army Richard Dannatt are among the speakers to appear at a public lecture series he is organising. They will look at the role of politics in tackling subjects ranging from immigration to UK defence policies.
Charles Clarke said: “After the success of the first Too Difficult Box lecture series, this sequel tackles further important political problems which our country needs to solve. The subjects – social care in old age, immigration, the real location of power, gender discrimination and reviewing our national defences – will be discussed by senior politicians and public servants with real practical experience of the issues. ”
List of up-coming events:
