Body found at beauty spot: latest

Police have confirmed that the body discovered close to Whitlingham Park was that of missing woman Lucy Woolrich.

Formal identification has revealed that the body found in the River Yare yesterday afternoon by Broads Authority workers was 26-year-old Lucy, who was last seen in early January. Lucy, who was from the Tuckswood area, was also known as ‘Lucy Flowers’.

Her family had been due to hold an event in Chapelfield Gardens tomorrow, handing out posters to raise awareness of her disappearance.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course and an inquest will open at a later date.
