Almost £200 thousand pounds is being spent on new play equipment for Chapelfield Gardens, including a new activity area for older children.

The plans for the new children’s play areas in Chapelfield Gardens go on display this week. Maggie Finck, who is managing the project said: “We have looked carefully at everything people said to us and our new play spaces have been designed to meet the needs of younger children, older children and teenagers alike.”

The city council will draw up a final design for the park by the summer, allowing work to start ready for spring 2012. Further improvements could include creating a space to be used as a performance or story-telling area.

To have your say, view the plans at Methodist Church Centre on Chapelfield Road on Thursday 7th April between 6-9pm. A new Chapelfield Gardens page of the council’s website from Thursday and on the first floor foyer of City Hall from Monday 11th until Thursday 21th April.
