An A level student at City College is opting to travel over 200 miles each day to get to college.

Chris Smith lives in East London, but travels daily to City College on Ipswich Road.

On a normal college day, Chris Smith’s alarm clock go off at 5.15am, so he can catch the 0625 train from Liverpool Street station, to get to college in time for the start of lessons at 9.15am.

The 21 year old explains why he enrolled here: “I love Norwich and when I visited City College Norwich, well, the place just seemed the right place to study. In the past 18 months that thought has been confirmed.”

By the time he finishes his A levels this summer, will have clocked up 64,000 miles in travelling. After his A levels, he plans to go to university to study sports journalism.
