One of Cringleford FC’s coaches will play at Wembley this weekend. Scott Howie’s team, Wroxham FC, have made history by getting through to the final of the FA Vase. Hundreds of supporters are expected to head for Wembley from Norfolk, including some of the young footballers he coaches.

Almost every Saturday for the past five years, Scott Howie’s been coaching boys at Cringleford FC in his spare time. Scott’s played professional football for teams such as Norwich, Bristol and Cambridge. He’s now the goalkeeper for Wroxham, who’ve successfully made it to the final of the FA Vase. It means they’ll play Whitley Bay this Sunday at Wembley. It’s the furthest The Yachtsmen, who play in the Ridgeons League Premier Division, have ever got in the competition. Around 600 teams entered the FA Vase. Their qualifying match was filmed by the FA and can be watched online.

The Cringleford Under 9s coach said: “I would imagine there would be a good few thousand heading down to watch the game at Wembley. It’ll be a great day out. I’ve never actually been to Wembley myself before.” Many of the Under 9 team Scott coaches will be going down to support him, including his son Sol, who will be the team’s mascot for the day.
