A Toy Library has grown in popularity since it relocated to Grapes Hill.
With more families joining each day, the charity is asking for donations to keep stocks up.In September, The Hamlet Centre, which supports children with special needs, moved to a new base at the top of Grapes Hill.
With it came its Toy Library which provides toys on loan for all under 5s. Demand has grown as a result of the move to the city centre, with new families joining every day. The Toy Library also reaches children outside of Norwich, with a bus taking toys into parts of rural Norfolk.
As a result, stocks are running low. Children’s Services Manager Terri Nelson said: “We’d welcome donations of new, returned or surplus toys, but also good quality used toys, as long as they are safe to use and in a good condition.”
The Hamlet Centre officially celebrated the opening of their newly refurbished building at Johnson Place, off Vauxhall Street, last week. The Hamlet Centre Trust’s Children’s Services and Toy Library completing the first two phases of their ambitious fundraising target of £1.3 m in just over a year since it launched.
