Two people have been arrested following an incident off Dereham Road this afternoon, when a 10 year old boy was attacked by two dogs.
Officers were called to an address on Goldsmith Street shortly before 3pm following reports a child had been attacked.
The boy was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries to his arm following an incident involving two Staffordshire terriers. His injuries are non-life threatening. The dogs have been seized by police and officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A man in his 20s and woman in her 40s have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
Earlier this year, local people nearby started a petition, campaigning for dog owners to act more responsibly, after three pets were mauled by uncontrolled dogs and two died as a result. Gaining 350 signatures by April, the petition gained the backing of south Norwich MP, Simon Wright.
