A team from North Earlham’s Green Watch set themselves the challenge of climbing 3 peaks in under 20 hours. They’re back, but did they make it in time..?
The challenge starts in Scotland. They set out up Ben Nevis at 6pm, making it back down to the bottom in 3 and a half hours. The team’s drivers then drove them to the Lake District, where they started climbing Scafell Pike in the dark at around 4am. From there, it was off to Wales, where just before midday they climbed up and down Mt Snowden, back in time to watch the second half of the England/Slovenia match. Team leader Dave Peacock’s comment on the team: “All the guys performed fantastically.”
The final time, 19 hours and 12 mins, well inside the 20 hour target (11 hours is set aside to allow for the driving). Over £2000 raised by the team will go towards the Fire Fighters’ Charity.
