An allegation against the headteacher of Eaton Primary has been found to be “unsubstantiated”. Diana Neville-Jones was suspended last month while an investigation took place.

Diana Neville-Jones was due to leave Eaton Primary School this summer, after handing in her notice earlier this year. However she was suspended last month after an allegation was made against her. Norfolk Police issued a statement at the time stating that they would not be investigating the matter further. An internal investigation has now cleared the head, just 3 days before she was due to leave.

Victoria MacDonald, Chair of Governors, said: “We are pleased to be able to welcome Diana back to school for the last three days of term. Our internal investigation is now complete and the allegation was found to be unsubstantiated. Diana’s suspension was regrettable but necessary while an internal investigation took place and we are delighted that she is able to return to school for the remainder of the term. Diana had already decided to leave the school at the end of the academic year and everyone at the school wishes her well for the future.”

The Governing Body has appointed a new head who will start at the school in January. Steven Portas will join the school from Sheringham Primary School.
