Eaton woman jailed for drink-driving

A woman has been jailed after being found to be twice the legal drink drive limit. 29 year old Nikki Marie Smith of Greenways in Norwich pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to driving with alcohol above the limit and perverting the course of justice.

The charges relate to an incident on the A146 at Trowse on 1st June which resulted in Nikki Smith being breathalysed and arrested for being over the drink drive limit. She later sent a text message to her boyfriend asking him to tell police he was driving her car at the time.

At Norwich Crown Court last week, Nikki Smith was sentenced to 28 days in prison and disqualified from driving for three years, reduced by nine months if The Drive-Wise Course is completed.
