Norwich Livestock Market has been sold to a well-known name in local business. The city council won’t disclose the sum involved but some reports put the figure at £5 million.
The sale, which includes land adjacent to Norwich Livestock Market has been sold to Graham Dacre, the businessman who’s helped fund the Open Academy amongst other local ventures. The land off Hall Road is largely undeveloped, aside from the cattle market and a number of small businesses.
A spokesperson for the council said: “The sale is confidential so we will be unable to reveal the cost. We have sold the land to release funds to support the council’s capital works programme.”
William Router, property director at Dacre Property Holdings said: “There has been a fairly long period of discussion with Norwich City Council as obviously both sides wanted to be sure they’d got the right deal. We now have to masterplan the site which will involve a long period of discussion and deliberation.” The 6 acres, which includes around 10 existing properties who had long leases with the council, is zoned for employment use.
The property company confirmed they have other sites in Norwich they are interested in.
No news yet but I’ve got some calls in. Hopefully bring you an update some time next week

Any news on what the plans are for the site?
