Hundreds of people are expected to head to Norwich’s 2nd Body Art Festival next weekend. It’s a chance to see professional tattooists at work in the grand setting of St Andrew’s Hall.
Last year, around 2000 people attended the 2 day festival. 70 tattooists from all over the country as well as future afield will be at the festival which runs over the weekend of 14th/15th August.
There will be trade stands showcasing everything from fashion to art, stage and street performers, as well as an awards ceremony and a tattoo art auction. Burlesque performers, The Hot Boppin’ Girls will take to the stage.
The graffiti jam returns, curated by graff artist Tony Allen, owner of Sticky Fingerz art space and shop, who last year created some masterpieces along with other well known spray painters.
On their website, the organisers – Indigo Tattoo Studio and Outline Magazine - explain the festival’s popularity: “The city of Norwich has become a cultural and musical focal point for people throughout Norfolk and surrounding areas over the years. The city is seeing a growing population of budding tattoo and body modification enthusiasts.”
Tickets are £10 a day or £17 for the weekend, available from various shops or online at Norwich Body Art Festival website.
