A local film company is looking for locations for their latest production. Their last film, shot in Norwich last summer, could be shown in cinemas later this year.

“Graveyard Shift… A Zomedy of Terrors” is a no-budget film made by Goblin Films Ltd. It’s shot using local actors and extras in locations around Norwich, including a late night corner shop in Earlham.

The zombie film, scripted by writer Denise Channing, is  in post-production and talks are planned with both the Odeon and Cinema City. If the film secures local release, the crew will be reimbursed for their expenses. If it starts to return a profit, they’ll earn a proportion of the takings.

A second film, with the working title of “The Philosopher’s Stone” is still being written. Denise Channing, who produces and directs the films, is scouting for suitable locations in Norwich. She says: “One of the suggestions we’ve had via the Secret Norwich Facebook site is the Plantation Gardens on Earlham Road. We have our main cast and the story line is in place, just adding detail as we go. I’ve often found myself writing around locations. I find a good place and ask myself what might happen there. It worked well in the last film.”

The film will again draw on local actors and crew and explores the idea of alchemy as a source of immortality. A third film, based on werewolves is also in the pipeline.
