A project which has helped pay for hundreds of local children to take part in activities is to be extended.
Last year, an estimated £80,000 was spent helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds in south Norwich alone.
The money can be used to pay for after-school or holiday activities, such as sports, cubs, brownies or music lessons. Many hundreds of children are eligible, just by looking at those who receive free school meals. The funding also extends to families where the child is a young carer, or where the family is experiencing financial difficulties.
The Extended Services team, based at City of Norwich School, want organisations to know that funding is going to continue for children whose families are experiencing financial hardship. All schools in south Norwich have information about this scheme.
