Two people have been charged in relation to a raid on a brothel on Avenue Road last summer.

The raid was part of an operation across the East, co-ordinated by the Serious and Organised Crime Agency.

Last July, an illegal brothel operating in the Golden Triangle was shut down, after officers made 3 arrests in Norwich, in connection with human trafficking and prostitution. Further arrests were made in other cities across the East.

In January 2011, police revealed a victim of human trafficking was found during the Norwich raid.

Now, over a year after the initial arrests, police have confirmed six of the eleven people arrested in relation to the operation have been charged with conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels.

In the case of the Norwich raid, police have charged Anna Joskowska, a 24-year-old unemployed woman, from Dumbarton Road in Ipswich and Przemyslaw Wegrzynowski, a 40-year-old shopkeeper, from London Road in Ipswich.

All six have been bailed to attend Ipswich Magistrates Court on 31st August 2011.
