Work’s started to repair some of Norwich’s historic city walls. Frost damage, especially to sections of the wall at Chapelfield, occurred during the cold snap last winter.

The city walls, which date back to the 14th century, are a scheduled monument, which the city council has responsibility for. The work will cost approximately £50,000 and is expected to finish by October.

The council is working closely with English Heritage during the repair work.
