Lost toddler: latest
A woman has been charged with child neglect, after a 2 year old boy was discovered unattended near the ring road yesterday.
A member of the public came across the 2 year old in the Barrett Road area yesterday morning, near the Hewett School. As a result of the incident, police have used their powers of protection in relation to four children, including the two-year-old boy, and are working closely with Children’s Services at Norfolk County Council.
Det Con Pat Thompson, from Norwich CID, said: “We are still very keen to trace the driver of the light coloured people carrier seen travelling along Barrett Road towards Mansfield Lane at the time of the incident. We understand the male driver was forced to take avoiding action narrowly missing the child.”
A 39-year-old woman, charged with child neglect, from Barrett Road will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday 19th July. Her name is not being released to protect the identity of the children.
