An Earlham Road pub is under new ownership.
Under the name – The Earlham Arms – the pub’s opening in time to show all of Norwich’s Premiership games.
What was once The Pickwick, and more recently, The Schoolhouse, the sky blue exterior has been painted over, and the inside has been returned to a traditional pub.
They’ll be offering eight real ales, a burger/specials menu and access to Premiership football. Nathan Evans, acting manager, said: “We’ll be showing every single Norwich Premiership game, home or away. A lot of people who’ve come in have been excited by the fact that they’ll be able to watch the away games here. We were really busy on Saturday for the opening game of the season.”
Last September, the building launched as The Schoolhouse, aimed at the student market, but just 6 months later, its license was put under review after neighbours complained about late night noise. It kept its license, and under the new look, the owners hope to attract regulars back into the pub.
