A bar on Earlham Road is to have its license looked into, just six months after opening.
Complaints have been received about rowdy behaviour from customers leaving The Schoolhouse.
The Schoolhouse opened for business in September 2010. The pub was formerly The Fountain and before that The Pickwick. The bar caters for sports fans offering Sky Sports and targets the student market. But their license is under review after complaints about noise, lighting and “rowdy behaviour of intoxicated customers leaving the premises” were reported to the city council.
Mike Baxter who set up the venture as part of the Havana Group commented: “We know it’s a residential area and we are doing our best. We know there are a few neighbours who’re unhappy with our presence.”
Residents have until the 15th March 2011 to feedback any comments to the City Council’s licensing department. The licensing team will then consider if the matter should be taken up further with the Licensing Committee.
