The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has gained top marks for cleanliness, catering and patient dignity.

The NPSA‘s Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) assesses the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s standards of patient environment, privacy and hospital food. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital was judged as excellent in all 3 categories for the third year running; cleanliness, catering and privacy and dignity.

Chief Executive Anna Dugdale said: “These are excellent results that are down to good teamwork on the part of often over-looked staff who are delivering an excellent service for patients. We are committed to ensuring our patients enjoy excellent standards of cleanliness, catering and privacy. We remain determined to maintain those standards and improving them further wherever possible.”

Under the National Patient Safety Agency’s Patient Environment Action Team inspection regime the possible scores are Poor, Acceptable, Good or Excellent. The assessments include inspections by patient representatives.
