Campaigners lobby County Hall

Anti-cuts campaigners are lobbying Norfolk County Council leaders this morning, as councillors meet to set the budget.

At the same time, the coalition representing disabled people locally has written an open letter to all Norfolk MPs urging them to reject the government’s proposals for reform of welfare, health and social care.

Tax loophole tightened

From April, empty homes in Norwich will no longer be eligible for a council tax discount.

The MP for Norwich South has secured a meeting with First following concerns over the changes to bus routes in the city.

Some UEA students, who had bought annual bus passes, returned on the first day of this term to find their route had been withdrawn.

Decision delayed on historic site

Despite standing disused for over 3 years, a decision on plans for a green open space in the city has been postponed.

Around 200 residents packed a public meeting in Lakenham in the summer, with many arguing the land should be kept for community use.
