A public meeting is being held next week for anyone interested in a new school planned for Norwich. The Norwich Studio School would share part of the Hewett School site and aims to develop Norfolk’s next generation of young entrepreneurs. It plans to open in September 2012 and would cater for young people aged between 14 and 19. Students would work closely with local businesses to develop the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in running their own businesses or in helping Norfolk’s businesses compete in a world market.

The backers behind the Norwich Studio School have just been given permission to move to the next stage of the application process.

Rob Anthony, Associate Headteacher at The Hewett School, said, “There is still a long way to go to get the studio school up and running but this is an important first step.  The government have taken a look at our plans and they want to know more about the idea.”

A public meeting has been arranged at The Hewett School on Tuesday 19th July at 7:30pm in the South Site Hall, off Hall Road.
