A south Norwich woman who set up her own cookery business is representing the East with her entry.
The ITV programme ‘Britain’s Best Dish’ went to air this week, pitting entrants from different regions to get to the final.
While still working for Social Services part time, Julie Philpot has set up her own business, teaching cookery from her home. The courses vary from teaching students before they head off to college, to authentic Indian dishes. As a mother of three, she taught her own children how to cook healthy, economical meals to help them manage their student finances.
Filming for Britain’s Best Dish has just finished, with the competition for the best dish from the Eastern Region being televised the week beginning 25th April. With prize money of £10,000 to be won, you can follow Julie’s journey nightly at 5pm. Recipes from the shows can be found online as the show is aired. Her own entry is a whisked sponge cake called Blueberry Burst Gateaux.
