Local students are proving among the keenest in the country to get involved in next year’s Olympics, according to City College.

Around 240 City College students have signed up for training to allow them to apply for paid work at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Once through the free training course, they can apply for a range of jobs such as stewarding at next summer’s Games, which includes free accommodation in London and free travel to work once they are in the capital.

Dick Palmer, Principal, City College Norwich, said: “We have seen huge enthusiasm from our students to be part of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.  Working at the Games will not only be incredibly exciting for these students, it will also provide fantastic work experience and will be a valuable addition to their CVs”.

Any students interested in signing up for Bridging the Gap can still do so by contacting Byron Sellars on (01603) 773 134 or email byron.sellars@ccn.ac.uk.  To be eligible, students must be aged 18 or over on 1st July 2012, with preference given to those who will be 18 at the time of the Games.
