Artists across south Norwich are opening their studios to the public over the next couple of weeks. Whether you like sculpture or textiles, it’s a chance to see behind the scenes.

Wherever you live in south Norwich, there will be some studios open nearby. In the Unthank Road area, you’ll find Sarah Spooner and Jon Gregory on Chester Street whose work includes woodcuts and linocuts of landscapes. David Jones is around the corner on Trinity Street, where he produces both paintings and prints. And on nearby Unthank Road you can find Jan Miller‘s work with textiles and paper.

On Caernarvon Road, you’ll find Stuart Cullum‘s oil and acrylic portrait paintings. Meanwhile Beatrice Heuvel produces Japanese-style textiles out of her premises on Earlham Road. And slightly out of town, Elizabeth Rose produces sea and landscapes out of her studio on Sukey Way. Stuart Culum said: “It’s a nice resource for people. You don’t have to buy anything. It’s a nice community event… The neighbours come through, I invite friends and family. It’s a nice way to meet people you wouldn’t otherwise come across.”

In Cringleford, you’ll find Adrian Ward’s photographs, pastels and prints in his studio on Intwood Road. While in Eaton, you’ll find June Gentle, who produces stoneware ceramics.

For sculpture made from welded steel, you can visit Ros Newman on Cecil Road while just off Trafford Road, you can see Paul Cozens’ work on acrylic landscapes. And there’s a final chance to visit Norwich’s “unofficial arts centre”. Around 15-20 artists exhibit out of the Art Factory, on the site of the former Bally Shoe Factory on Hall Road, which is due to close soon.

The dates and times vary from artist to artist. The full listings are available for all the open studio events over the coming fortnight.
