Traffic tailbacks likely this weekend
The bridge at Carrow Road will be shut this weekend. Diversions will be in place, but avoid it if you can. The bridge will be closed to vehicles from early Saturday morning 19 June until Sunday afternoon 20 June, to allow wooden deck panels in the centre of the carriageway to be replaced. The works have been timed to minimise conflict with major events and other roadworks in the city, but delays are inevitable and road users are advised by the council to allow extra time for journeys.
Traffic will be diverted primarily via the inner ring road. Warning signs will also be placed on the Southern Bypass and Trowse Bypass. Vehicular access to the Riverside Swimming Pool and Wherry Road and Geoffrey Watling Way apartments will be maintained from Koblenz Avenue.
