A brand new community centre is planned for Cringleford on Round House Park. It’s seen as key to bringing the village together, despite being split by the A11. The parish council wants to hear what local groups think it should include.
Under the Section 106 agreement, the consortium who are building Round House Park agreed to provide a new venue for the community. It’ll be built next to the new school site on Dragonfly Lane. Under the agreement, Cringleford Parish Council also asked for public open spaces, including three children’s play areas.
At this stage, the Parish Council is keen to hear views from any individuals or groups who want their say. They hope the centre will seat 250 people, have changing rooms, a bar, kitchen and a football pitch outside.
Anne Barnes, the parish clerk said: “We desperately need a new community facilitiy. Some of the local groups are fully booked, such as the W.I, playgroup, cubs and brownies. We’ve always had a lovely village spirit and we’re keen to integrate the new residents into the community. The ethos is very much to keep it as one village, even though we’re split down the middle by the A11. We hope the centre will bring the community together.” Residents are invited to the Parish Council AGM on 13th May, or can email their ideas to cringleford.pc@tiscali.co.uk
