A reconstruction of a fatal collision on the A47 could lead to delays this morning, as police try to piece together what happened. Officers want to hear from the driver of a 4X4 towing a caravan, who may have broken down shortly before the accident occurred.
Norfolk Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) will be conducting a partial reconstruction and tests with a vehicle, at the scene of a fatal collision which took place on the A47 Norwich southern by-pass on Saturday 10 July.
The tests will mean a rolling restriction will be in place between the A11 Newmarket Road and A146 Trowse slip roads, Yarmouth bound, from 11 am. The tests will not mean the closure of the road; however there could be some congestion whilst the tests are carried out.
Officers from the SCIT apologise in advance for any inconvenience these tests may cause and would like to thank all witnesses to the original incident who have come forward offering their assistance.
PC Keith Wiseman from SCIT, would still like to hear from the driver of a 4X4 vehicle towing a caravan on the A47 Yarmouth bound, which may have broken down and stopped just prior to the A146 turn off around midday. PC Wiseman can be contacted on 0845 456 4567.
