The court heard how the 21 year old was AWOL from the army and was looking for a way out.

Last year, a man in his mid-70s pulled out of a side street onto Earlham Road on his bike.
The driver of a car, heading out of Norwich, failed to spot him in time. He later died in hospital from his injuries.
During the inquest into his death, it struck me maybe it’s time for local people to tackle this issue head-on.

Inquest raises speeding concerns
It’s emerged that a driver who collided with a cyclist on Earlham Road was found guilty of death by careless driving earlier this year.
76 year old John Rudledge died after being knocked off his bike near the junction with Alexandra Road last September.
The incident has caused local councillors to ask how speeding could be reduced along that stretch of road.
