Eaton skatepark ready by summer

Work begins on a large skating facility in Eaton Park on Monday. Costing 300,000 pounds and spanning 1000 sqm, the park is designed for skateboarders, BMX bikers and rollerblades. It ‘ll have the capacity to host national events.

A group formed from the skating community helped design the park. Founder member, Chris Sturgess, says: “It’s been a long haul – I have been involved in working towards this for seven years.” “I’m delighted that work is about to start on the park and even more pleased that it’s likely to be open for use in the summer.” Read More…

Action on cheap alcohol sales

alcohol salesEfforts are being made to make it harder for pubs, off-licences and supermarkets to sell alcohol at rock-bottom prices. Eaton councillor, Judith Lubbock (Lib Dem) has put a motion to the City Council, to restrict the sale of cheap alcohol in Norwich.  She says “It’s a social problem which affects us all. In one way of another we are all paying for it through the NHS or policing.”
