On 7th September, councilors will be asked to pass seven recommendations which will form the basis of the next Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service Safety Plan. Euphemistically known as an improvement plan, these proposals include the removal of a fire engine from Norwich when crews move in to the new Carrow fire station. The Fire Brigade’s Union (FBU) is looking into taking legal action against proposed changes to the fire service. Public consultation opened today on changes put forward by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Authority, which include reducing the fire cover for Norwich, with the loss of a possible 24 posts.
