Football fan’s life saved at Carrow Road

Norwich-cityThe quick thinking of a specialist cardiac nurse helped save the life of a fellow football fan at Saturday’s game. Simon Bowles, who lives on the Avenues, stepped in when he saw a man nearby having a heart attack. He carried out life support on the man, aided by two GPs, before paramedics arrived to take the patient to the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital. Read More…

A&E struggles to cope with demand

Up to 70% of A&E patients could be treated elsewhere within the NHS, according to a report to councillors this week. At the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital they’re working on a strategy to get this message across, as they face unprecedented demand. Hospital staff praised for braving weather

school-closedThousands of staff at the N&N University hospital have been thanked by bosses for their efforts to get into work today, despite the snow. Many left for work early, while others left their cars at home and walked. 

Chairman David Prior said; “It has been very striking just how many staff have made every effort to get to our hospitals in order to maintain services for our patients. Our staff deserve our sincere thanks for going the extra mile in this morning’s appalling weather.” Read More…
