Terms and Conditions

South Norwich News is a trading name of Pioneer Hyperlocal Media Ltd. The company is registered in England and Wales. Company number: 7112195. Registered address: Seebohm House, 2-4 Queen Street, Norwich NR24SQ.

1. If you would like to add material to the site or interact with the site you must register and become a site member. As part of this you will be deemed to have consented to and be bound by these terms.
2. You must be 16 or over to register as a member.
3. Any content you add must not be obscene, defamatory, harassing, threatening, infringing any third party’s rights or in breach of anyone’s privacy. That includes usernames – we reserve the right to reject usernames that are unsuitable for the above reasons.
4. Any content you add is accurate and up to date, all facts are true to the best of your knowledge and belief and, if it contains opinions, these are your own and genuinely held by you.
5. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, and you are responsible for keeping your password secret, for making sure no one else uses it, and for letting us know of any unauthorised use.
6. If you use any functionality of the site that allows other users of the site to contact you or leave comments you are accepting that these may be abusive, untrue or unpleasant. If it is, however, please let us know.
7. South Norwich News does not claim any rights of ownership over your content. You own the rights to your own words and images, but give Pioneer Hyperlocal Media Ltd and other users the irrevocable right to use content and make it available elsewhere under a non-commercial Creative Commons licence.
8. South Norwich News does not pay for any content submitted to the site.
9. South Norwich News does not guarantee to use your content or otherwise make it available. We may edit your submissions to improve clarity, for example, better phrasing. Any submissions may be moderated or deleted at South Norwich News’s discretion. In some cases we may disable access to content that appears to be legally or otherwise problematic, e.g. it is defamatory.
10. You agree to only use the site for lawful purposes, in a manner which does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use of the site by anyone else. That includes (but isn’t limited to) conduct which is libellous, in breach of anyone’s privacy or which may harass, cause real distress or inconvenience to any person.
11. You agree to indemnify and keep indemnified South Norwich News from and against all claims, damages, expenses, liabilities and costs (including legal fees) relating to or arising from your use of the site.
12. You acknowledge that members may submit content you consider offensive. South Norwich News assumes no responsibility or liability for user content and, as it is created by users, it does not necessarily represent the views of South Norwich News. If you want to complain about any content, please do so by email to editor@southnorwichnews.co.uk.
13. South Norwich News is not responsible for the availability or content of any third party websites or materials that you access through the site; nor do we endorse those. You access linked sites at your own risk.
14. You may link to content on the site or send links via messaging. South Norwich News disclaims all liability for any legal or other consequences of links made to the site.
15. Your data will be kept private and confidential and will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
16. South Norwich News reserves the right to change the Terms at any time by posting changes online. We’ll let you know if we do, but it is your responsibility to refer to and comply with the most up to date Terms on accessing the site.
17. South Norwich News will try to make the site available to you at all times. However, you acknowledge that the quality and availability of the site may be affected by factors that are outside our reasonable control.
18. South Norwich News reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the site or any part of it at any time and without notice or liability.
19. You may terminate your membership at any time by following the instructions in your profile. If you do, these terms remain in effect and your content will remain on the site.
20. The terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Any disputes arising from the site or terms will be decided only by the English courts.
21. The site is only intended to be accessed from the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. If you access the site from outside of those territories you are responsible for compliance with all local laws.
